One of the assistant principals is very rude and condescending. She is difficult to speak to and not concerned about issues or questions a parent had. It was disappointing to have such a negative experience with an administrator. Unfortunately, the assistant principal that is approachable and understanding is returning to the classroom. Two of my children attend and I am pleased with the education they are receiving.The classes are mostly challenging and rewarding and most of the teachers are talented in helping children learn. There are many music, art,sports and extracurricular activites, though one of my children, who had planned to take Music Theory, was unable to as they decided not to offer it this year due to problems with enrollment. Parents can be involved through the PTA if they like. The PTA is run by highly motivated parents with very strong interest in everything from Curriculum to Special education. The Special Ed program in the South Orangetown Schools are among the best in NY State. Plus, the track team is nationally renowned.
